“Schönegg”: Latt steps up
For 23 years, Reinhold Wrobel cooked at the Chalet Hotel Schönegg in Zermatt. “He did an incredible job and continuously developed his cuisine,” says owner Sebastian Metry, who also serves as President of Relais & Châteaux Switzerland. Now the kitchen is entering a new chapter: Sous-chef Maximilian Latt is taking over. The Alsace native earned the 15th GaultMillau point together with Wrobel in the 2026 guide. His culinary concept combines French cuisine with alpine inspiration, complemented by light accents from Asia and Latin America.

Following the departure of Reinhold Wrobel, Maximilian Latt has assumed leadership of the kitchen at Chalet Hotel Schönegg in Zermatt. A native of Alsace, he brings international experience and a clear culinary vision.
